My Bus

As November quickly brings the chills of winter, snow and long hours of darkness, I make an extra effort to get out and experience all that life still has to offer.
My bus is my cozy refuge, from where I safely take in the many sights, sounds and smells of the city. While I often like to sit at the back to feel the gentle purring and warmth of the motor, I also love to perch near Valentina, my trusty driver. My seat is cuddly, soft and dry, and I relax by riding for hours on end.
I really enjoy all of the many interesting characters who I let ride on my bus. I look up at each of them with eager eyes, reminding each that their price of admission includes reaching out to pet me at least once—if not twice—during the journey. And snack sharing is almost always welcome, although sometimes I’m only in the mood for a sniff.
Best of all are my regulars, who by now I’ve fully trained. They bring me delicious treats prepared by cultures from around the world, offering me exotic new tastes like I’ve never experienced before. While I don’t understand all of their languages, since cat love is universal, we communicate with ease.
Over the years I’ve even become welcoming of other four-legged furry friends on my bus, too. After all, my bus is so big and warm that there’s always room for everybody. 🐾
