July 1 is Canada Day, a time to celebrate Canada’s birthday! With spectacular fireworks, tasty food and fun for all to enjoy – it’s our country’s special day.
Likewise for us humans, every birthday is a special day where friends and family often lavish attention on us, and celebrate the fact that we’re on this earth. We usually receive tasty treats and some shiny toys that we get to play with. It’s one day of the year that’s all about us, and it makes us feel great.
But what about our pets? It’s a simple fact that most of us usually have no clue when our pet’s exact birth date is, and frankly we haven’t actually given it much thought over the years. It’s usually one of those details that gets lost in our hectic day-to-day busyness.
So how about this fun idea? Why not pick any random day to be your pet’s birthday – you know, their important day? Sure every day is special for our pets, but make their new birthday an extra special one for them.
And what better time of year to celebrate your beloved pet’s newly declared day of honor than now – in the beautiful, lazy, hazy summer time of July. Pick a day when you’ll be home, relaxed, and make your pet ‘Royalty for a Day’ with extra treats and new shiny toys for them to play with. They’ll appreciate it, for sure – and you’ll feel great about it too.
As the song goes, “They say it’s your birthday! Happy birthday to you! You’re gonna have a good time!” 🐾
