September: Ahoy from Salty, the Aqua Cat – A Pet Tale
Welcome all to my undersea world, where I now live almost full time in my owner’s big aquarium! Wait, you’ve never heard of a cat who can live underwater? Well you have now!
It’s so relaxing and enjoyable in here, and I can play games with the tropical blue fishies and their long flowing tails as long as I please. In fact, that’s how I started out; I used to play with the fishies through the aquarium’s glass, but one day my best buddy Bubbles the Bluefish suggested I get right inside and join them. The rest is history!
I almost never get thirsty anymore, and can still keep a watch on my owner as they watch tv nearby. At first they were startled, but now they’re used to it. When I’m feeling a little waterlogged, I like to jump out, shake myself off, and sit in front of our raging fireplace. When I’m all dry, I curl up on my owner’s lap and explain my day’s adventures to them.
Lately when I’m outside in the neighborhood on my daily stroll, I like to dive into the creek to cool off. The uncool cats think I’m crazy, but they don’t know what they’re missing! I’m even getting good at diving to the bottom to retrieve shiny treasures for my happy owner – who would have thought?
So the next time you hear about Salty the Aqua Cat, smile the biggest smile you can – because now you know!

Her work is inspired by the natural and vibrant world that surrounds us. Photography and image manipulation are usually the starting points of her creative process.
